Topic & Description:
IT Architecture for Attorneys and eDiscovery Professionals CLE
Let’s face it - most legal professionals did not plan to go to school to learn about IT infrastructure, become conversant in IT "lingo", or have the time to stay abreast of how technology changes on a monthly basis, let alone be experts in how to collect ESI (electronically stored information) from a corporate network for use as evidence in a legal proceeding. In this 90 minute course, taught by a formerly certified Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), we will teach you how to address each part of a typical network, understand what data may exist within each source, and explain how to preserve data that may be potentially relevant. During our conversation, we will discuss everything from the typical desktop computer, to database servers, email servers, and even the dreaded mainframe. This is an interactive, open discussion, where we will provide an abundance of valuable information to be used as future reference, outline how to "address" a corporate network, discuss interacting with IT professionals and "translating" their lingo.
